The American Basketball Association (ABA) today released the names of players selected for the ABA All Star Game to be played in Baltimore, MD on Friday, April 22nd. "This was the toughest year ever to select the All Star teams," stated ABA Co-founder Joe Newman. "With nearly 90 teams and 1000 players, the #talent in the #ABA is truly amazing. I have no doubt that these players and many others in the league could give any professional sports league in the world a run for their money and that includes the NBA, D-League and top FIBA international teams. Too bad that they have turned down #challenges for our #AllStar teams to compete against them. It would probably "bust the bubble" that they have a corner on the top talent. They don't by a long shot."
With opening weekend just a few days away, the Hawks finalize their roster with the addition of a few players that will take on big roles for the Hawks. Those signees are all Baltimore natives, whom all have great basketball resumes on the International level!
The American Basketball Association (ABA) announced that the Baltimore Hawks will host the 2015-2016 All Star Game in mid-April following the Final Four playoffs. "Gregory Brown and the Hawks did a fabulous job in their first season and we anticipate another great year," stated Tom Chichester , ABA VP of Operations and All Star Game Site Selection Chairman. "They are putting together a fabulous weekend of activities and were the majority choice of the Selection Committee. We are looking forward to an exciting All Star Game."
"We are going to introduce a new format for this All Star Game," continued Chichester, "sort of modeled after the NFL All Star Game. The coaches of the top 2 ABA teams will select their teams from a roster of 28 players nominated by the ABA Executive Committee and the ABA Division Chairmen. It should be a very exciting competitive game."

Indianapolis, IN. The American Basketball Association (ABA) www.americanbasketballassociation.org today announced the ABA Certified Affiliate League program designed to establish relationships with other professional and semi-professional basketball leagues. According to Joe Newman, ABA co-founder, "Since we announced our plans to organize ABA summer basketball leagues around the country, we have had many inquiries from existing summer leagues about
working with them. Our goal is for players to have a chance to play in the summer so this concept works well...and hopefully, many players will have the skills to play in the ABA also."
The ABA Certified Affiliate League program will be managed by Don Sanchez, ABA Vice President of West Coast Operations and also CEO of the ABA Summer Pro League. "I feel the way Joe does," stated Sanchez. "There is no reason for us to compete with existing summer pro leagues when there are so many excellent leagues in existence. For example, Nessie Drake, owner of the ABA Louisiana Cajun All-Stars, also owns the Christian Basketball League that plays in Louisiana, Texas and Florida. Ms. Drake's league will be the first ABA Certified Affiliate League. And we're very pleased."
