Akeem Echols joins the Hawks as a first year professional player,
Shaw University (2015-16): As a senior at Shaw during the 2015-16 season, Echols was a vital component off the bench for the Bears, averaging 5.2 PPG and 2.8 RPG. He scored in double figures six times, including a season-high 16 points in 18 minutes at Winston-Salem State in route to a 100-90 victory on Feb. 10 for Shaw.

Was a member on the basketball team…was a two-time Most Valuable Player and member of All-Academic team… also earned First-Team All-Division 3A and All-Country 2nd honors during his prep career.
Personal Akeem Echols was born on May 3, 1993…son of Gerald Echols and Katrina Davis…majoring in general studies and plans to get a degree in sports management at a four year college.
